Developing confirmation work after the COVID-19 pandemic…

Registration for the international conference is now open!
Cordial invitation to the international conference on the third confirmation work study in Europe, which will take place from March 4-5, 2024 at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

The third European study on confirmation work took place in the confirmation year 2021/2022. Conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, the study examined how confirmation work can succeed. The study focuses the perceptions of the young people but also includes perspectives of full-time and voluntary workers. Additionally, the changed conditions of confirmation work are explored. Three innovative topics are specifically highlighted: developing confirmation work through digital feedback, potentials and limitations of digital media and questions of teaching and learning in confirmation work.
In the conference the results of the study are presented and discussed. In the joint exchange, challenges and perspectives for the development of confirmation work after the pandemic are discussed with insights from the nine countries involved.
The conference aims at experts in church and academia who are professionally involved with confirmation work and who are interested in understanding and improving this core offer of Protestant churches.
